welcome to the jungle

Wearing- Zimmermann playsuit

Nature has become a major part of my life in the last few years, as my house looks out on classic Australian bush. This post gives an insight into my surroundings, therefore it is quite a personal post. I feel I am so lucky to live where I do, as I get the best of both worlds, beach and bush. Australia is such a unique country, with its lush greenery and crystal blue seas. It seems like Australia is a country with a bit of everything; desert, snow, beach and rainforest. Although we are a young country, that excites me, because there is still so much more beauty for generations to appreciate and capture.

In this post, I seized the golden lighting of the late afternoon which is the time of day I believe the 'rainforest' really shines. The rugged texture of the bark, the deep greens of the leaves and the shadows cast upon the trees makes for a magical time.

As this post focuses on a true Australian landscape, I thought I would wear an all-Australian label, Zimmermann. It is one of my favourite labels, and this playsuit really sums up their vibe. Beautiful patterning, intricate detailing and sweet broderie anglaise that never goes out of style. I was so lucky to receive this playsuit as a gift over Christmas, and it is the perfect summer outfit. (I may be a bit bias as I happen to love playsuits)

That's all from me, welcome to the jungle!

steel blues

Wearing - Slideshow denim playsuit, Bardot denim jacket, Windsor Smith sandals.

For my first post, I thought what better way to start than with a timeless style, denim. Denim has had such a major influence on fashion and is one of my personal favourites for all seasons. This denim playsuit is such a unique piece, and even though its winter, on a summer day it's a perfect and easy outfit choice. I've grown up by the beach, and it is one of my favourite places to be, so it seemed like a good place to start blogging.

Double denim has been a major trend of this season and I wanted to put my own spin on it, so I thought it would be perfect to shoot against the blues of the ocean and the rocky cliffs surrounding. The ocean has a different feel to it in winter, as when there are less people around you can see the ocean spray and all the different hues of blue, plus the cool breeze and the crashing of the waves really add to the atmosphere.

I ventured down to the beach with my friend and fellow blogger Maggie from Little Miss Maggie May, and she took these beautiful pictures. Thankyou Maggie! I also got an opportunity to use my film camera for the first time. Film cameras really appeal to me, as film photography in my opinion can create some of the most artistic photos, and developing them is so exciting as you can never tell how the photos will look until that moment.

I'm really proud of this first post, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed shooting and developing it.
